Artist Statement:
The nautilus shell is one of nature’s perfect examples of the
Divine Phi, which is a ratio of 1:1.618. Each chamber in the nautilus
shell is 1.618 larger (or smaller) than the previous one. This ratio
occurs throughout nature, including in the human body, and in manmade
structures like the pyramids. This quilt became the basis for my Nautilus
pattern.
