Barbara Shapel, Contemporary Fiber Artist

Moonlight Sonata - front and back

Artist Statement:
The Great Blue Heron is a classic symbol of the Pacific Northwest. This elegant, shy bird can often be spotted near the rivers and lakes that dot this region. Because it is such a still bird when it stands in water, its reflection is visible. The Native Americans believe the Blue Heron is the symbol for introspection and self-awareness. May you always see a reflection of yourself and see all that is within.
