Artist Statement:
I was telling my dear friend, Jeanette Peck, about my continuing series
of Great Blue Heron quilts when I noticed her looking at me rather
askew. “Well”, she said, “they’re not so great
if you have a koi pond.” It seems that every day for a week
last summer, Jeanette woke to find a Great Blue Heron “fishing”
in her koi pond. By the end of the week, not a single koi was left!
This piece is dedicated to all the koi out there who are still “in
hiding”.
